Construction of the Travel Ukulele begins!

Inspired by Circuits and Strings’s Backpacker Travel Ukulele, I jumped into Inkscape and made a quick template:

The design for my travel ukulele. The parts to cut are outlined in black and the markers for assembly are dashed.
The body consists of the leftmost and top-middle pieces, separated due to page size. The saddle is the center piece, the nut below. The fretboard has 18 frets, plenty for jamming.

I plan to make it out of a piece of Padauk I got recently. I was instantly charmed by the color and had to buy it. The sawdust is a huge mess, but it’s worth it for the product.

I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
